One of the most primal needs we all have is the need to feel safe. To feel safe a child must possess knowledge. If you teach them how to inquire, how to ideate knowledge for themselves, then the acquisition of knowledge becomes the norm; second nature, like taking a breath; and a feeling of safety will come along with that learned skill. And safety is impossible without a feeling of safety. 

As we all know, the difference between fishing for someone and teaching them to fish is the difference between dependence and independence. The same goes for Infoliteracy.
